Tongue Twister, a family show celebrating the beauty of language, will be performed at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe.

Created and performed by performance artist and musician Greg Sinclair, the show follows him on his quest to say tongue twisters in as many languages as possible. It will combine linguistic musicality with humour, colour and silliness, and will invite families to celebrate connection and diversity.

The tongue twisters are brought alive by a variety of costumes designed by Alison Brown, which include a disco ball shaped like a house, a hybrid of a brain and a frog, and a balaclava covered in tongues. Props and puppets will be made by Fergus Dunnet.

Sinclair is the performer, and will co-direct with Hannah Venet. The show also features lighting design by Michaella Fee, video design by Lucas Chih-Peng Kao, and compositions and sound design by Ben Fletcher.

Tongue Twister was commissioned by Edinburgh Children’s Festival 2025, and has toured across Scotland. This marks the performance’s Fringe debut, and it is set to embark on another tour in Spring 2027.

The showis part of the Made in Scotland showcase, a partnership between the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society, the Scottish Music Centre, and Creative Scotland.

Tongue Twister will be performed at Pleasance at EICC from 8-22 August (not 9, 16) as part of Edinburgh Fringe.
